13 to Life : Synopsis

Something strange is stalking the small town of Junction…

When sophomore Jessica Gillmansen gets called out of class by Guidance, she can only presume it’s for one of two reasons. Either they’ve finally figured out who wrote the scathing anti-jock editorial in the school newspaper or they’re hosting yet another intervention for her about her mom. Although far from expecting it, she is relieved to discover Guidance just wants her to show a new student around—but he comes with issues of his own.

Jessica’s relief turns to frustration as she discovers there’s almost nothing she can do or say that seems interesting at all to handsome Pietr Rusakova. Already emotionally taxed, Jessica returns Pietr’s disinterest until she learns he’s from Farthington, the site of the Phantom Wolf attacks. It’s a story Jessica’s dying to scoop, but Pietr refuses to grant an interview, further frustrating her…

The information Pietr’s withholding is precisely the thing that a young reporter would love to know, unless it means she’s falling in love with a monster…

But then—what really makes a monster?

And doesn’t
everyone have a little something monstrous lurking inside?

Hey Shannon!

I shared my WoW post with a good friend of mine and she mentioned something interesting about Pietr's last name.

We'd love it if you'd comment about this. Do you have a Facebook account? The comment log is on there or I guess you can just comment to my WoW post.

She mentioned that Russian last names that end in "a" are the feminine version. But Pietr is obviously 100% male. Any reason why his ends in an "a"?

I suggested maybe he doesn't like his father and went with his mother's spelling? Or maybe he doesn't know his father?...... Anyway, we're super curious now! :)
