13 to Life: Pietr's Been Ransomed!

Pietr is being held for ransom, but you can help Pietr get home and help wildlife sanctuaries at the same time!

Just choose a wildlife sanctuary from the list below, or, if you’re not in the United States, choose a wildlife sanctuary in your home country to support*! Make a donation of $13 or more (or the foreign equivalent) and email your receipt to info [at] shannondelany [dot] com. As soon as Shannon knows there’s a hero helping Pietr and his kind out, she’ll contact the ransomers and let them know the ransom’s been paid. Then Pietr (the adorable stuffed wolf seen here) will be sent to visit you! Take good care of him, because he’ll be traveling on as soon as more people jump in to help get Pietr home. As soon as Pietr arrives at his next stop, you’ll be sent a signed 13 to Life mini poster, a signed bookplate to put into your copy of the book, a glow-in-the-dark 13 to Life pin and a card from Shannon thanking you for your willingness to help wildlife sanctuaries. All particpants are required to pay to ship Pietr to his next destination within 1 week of being notified of another hero.

1.) Donate to the Lakota Wolf Preserve in Knowlton Township, NJ

2.) Donate to The Wolf Sanctuary of Pennsylvania AKA the Speedwell Wolves in Lititz, Pennsylvania (Donation must be $25 or more through their site.)

3.) Donate to W.O.L.F. in Northern Colorado (Choose the generic option when donating to enter $13.)

4.) Donate to The Wild Canid Center in St. Louis, Missouri

5.) Donate to Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary in New Mexico
Go to the page's bottom to enter your $13 donation.

6.) Donate to White Wolf Sanctuary in Oregon

7.) Donate to Shy Wolf Sanctuary in Naples, Florida
They have a search engine that helps raise funds for them if you use it (so even if you choose to donate your $13 to someone else entirely, you can still help them out a penny at a time).

8.) Donate to St. Francis Wolf Sanctuary, Montgomery, TX
Choose Your Amount (at the far right):

9.) Donate to Wolf Mountain in southern California
You can click on their donation button on their homepage. They were one of 2 groups that the CGI artists involved in New Moon visited to observe wolves before creating them on the big screen.

10.) Donate to Plumpton Park Zoo

11.) Donate to World Wildlife Federation

12.) Donate to Wolf Haven International

13.) Donate to Big Oak Wolf Sanctuary in Florida (they have 13 enclosures and 13 packs, so they get the special number)

All you have to do to help out is:
1.) Choose a wildlife sanctuary to donate $13 or more to,
2.) Make your donation,
3.) Send Shannon your receipt,
4.) Take care of Pietr while he visits (get some snapshots of Pietr with you and around your town—Shannon would love to post them!),
5.) Ship Pietr to the next hero within a week of Shannon notifying you of a new hero.

*For now Pietr cannot travel abroad in person, but we hope to change that soon! If you are participating from a foreign country, follow the same steps as listed above and you will be sent everything except Pietr. Shannon will try to put together a special waiting list of foreign contacts so that Pietr will be able to tour the world as an ambassador of wildlife goodwill soon!

Spread the word! Post this:

I may never let him go *evil laugh*

I love this Shannon! Pietr is quite happy with me right now. I'm sure he's eager to see the world.

Thank you for the wonderful chat tonight!
